This was a great cast, made up of TV veterans and a younger cast about to break. The writers on "Life as We Know It" were very good at making every character likeable and flawed at the same time. As we all know, even “perfect” people have issues and problems, as did Jackie.
I was very proud of one story line regarding alcoholism. (My character’s father was an alcoholic.) That situation couldn’t be further from my immediate family, but we have a history of alcoholism in our family tree and I know it affects many kids today. I was really happy that my character was addressing the issue because it’s a prime example of someone who looks like they have it all together and their life is great, but deep down they’re heartbroken and confused.
Despite the cult following, the show was cancelled after just one season. We were really disappointed because we loved working together, but it's something you get used to in television. You never know what's going to happen, so you embrace the moment and are grateful for the job no matter how long it may last.
